Your Place for Counseling, Coaching, and Connection

At My Place Counseling, we know that no two journeys are the same — and neither are the challenges that bring you to our practice. That’s why we offer a wide range of services designed to meet you exactly where you are.

We work with individuals who may be seeking in-depth guidance and support for managing mood and anxiety disorders, as well as those feeling overwhelmed by life transitions or simply wanting help finding greater fulfillment and clarity. Whether you’re looking for specific strategies, coping skills, or a safe space to process and grow, we’re here to help.

In addition to individual counseling, we provide parenting training and family coaching, which can look different from the traditional family therapy model. For couples, we offer counseling to strengthen communication, resolve conflicts, and foster deeper connection.

No matter where you find yourself today, our team is committed to supporting you with compassionate, evidence-based care that honors your unique needs and helps you move toward the life you want to live.

To discover which services are the best fit for you and your family, please schedule a consultation with us today. We’re here to help you learn more and take the next step toward the support you deserve.

Individual Counseling

Smiling

Individual counseling is a one-on-one therapeutic process where you work privately with a licensed mental health professional to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and life challenges. It provides a safe, supportive space to address issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, grief, trauma, or feeling stuck.

Through evidence-based techniques, you and your therapist collaborate to build insight, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful, lasting changes that align with your personal goals and values.

Family Counseling

Family Moments

Family counseling — also known as family therapy — is a type of therapy that involves two or more family members meeting together with a trained therapist. The goal is to help families improve communication, resolve conflicts, strengthen relationships, and better understand each other’s perspectives. Family counseling can address a wide range of challenges, such as parenting conflicts, sibling issues, major life changes, stressors that accompany adolescence, or the impact of mental health or substance use on the family as a whole.

Sessions provide a supportive space where each family member can share their thoughts and feelings openly, learn new ways to interact, and work together to find healthier ways to navigate challenges.

Marriage and Couples Counseling.

Couple Having Breakfast

Couples counseling helps partners strengthen their relationship, improve communication, resolve conflicts, and deepen their emotional connection. Guided by a licensed therapist, couples work together in a safe, neutral space to identify unhelpful patterns, communicate more openly, and rebuild trust and intimacy.

Counseling can help couples navigate challenges such as frequent arguments, feeling distant, issues with trust, major life changes like parenting, career shifts, or loss. It’s not about assigning blame, but about helping each partner feel heard, seen, and understood, and better equipped to work through difficulties together as a team.

Life Coaching

Team Meeting

Life coaching is a collaborative and action-oriented process that helps you clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and build a roadmap to achieve the life you want. Unlike therapy, life coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it focuses on identifying where you are now, where you want to be, and how to bridge that gap through concrete plans and accountability.

A life coach supports you in areas such as career transitions, work-life balance, motivation, time management, personal growth, and achieving specific aspirations. Sessions are typically structured, goal-focused, and forward-looking, helping you stay motivated and on track.

Parent Training

Playful Family

Parent Training is a supportive, skills-focused service designed to help parents and caregivers feel more confident and equipped to handle the challenges of raising children and teens. It provides practical tools, evidence-based strategies, and personalized guidance to help you understand your child’s behavior, set healthy boundaries, and create a positive, structured home environment.

Our Parent Training can help you:

  • Understand the reasons behind challenging behaviors

  • Learn effective discipline and positive reinforcement techniques

  • Improve communication and strengthen your relationship with your child

  • Develop routines and clear expectations that reduce conflict and power struggles

  • Support children with ADHD, anxiety, or other unique needs

  • Navigate parenting stress and feel more confident in your role

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your family’s specific needs and values. We focus on giving you practical tools you can use right away, along with ongoing support and problem-solving as you implement new approaches at home.

Family Coaching

Happy Family

Family coaching is a supportive, skills-based service designed to help families create a more balanced, cooperative, and fulfilling home life. Unlike traditional family therapy, which often focuses on healing emotional wounds and resolving deep-rooted conflicts, family coaching is practical and future-focused. It provides clear guidance, tools, and actionable strategies to address everyday challenges and strengthen family dynamics.

Our family coaching services can help with:

  • Improving communication and cooperation among family members

  • Establishing healthy routines and expectations

  • Managing challenging behaviors in children or teens

  • Supporting parents with effective parenting techniques

  • Navigating changes such as blending families, moving, or shifting family roles

  • Creating a more connected, harmonious family environment

Family coaching sessions are goal-oriented and collaborative. We work alongside you to identify what’s working well, what could be improved, and how to put new strategies into action right away. This process empowers families to make positive changes together, building confidence and resilience along the way.

Executive Functioning Training

Executive Functioning Training is a structured, skills-based service that helps children, teens, and adults strengthen the mental skills needed to plan, organize, manage time, and follow through on tasks effectively.

These skills — known as executive functions — are essential for success in school, work, and daily life, but can be challenging for individuals with ADHD, learning differences, or those who feel overwhelmed by staying organized and focused.

Our Executive Functioning Training focuses on practical strategies to help you or your child:

  • Break down big tasks into manageable steps

  • Prioritize responsibilities and manage time wisely

  • Use tools like planners, calendars, and reminders effectively

  • Develop routines and habits that support follow-through

  • Improve focus, self-monitoring, and goal setting

  • Build confidence and reduce frustration with everyday demands

Sessions are personalized and collaborative — we work with you to identify your strengths, pinpoint areas for growth, and practice new skills with real-life examples and accountability.
