Do not give up on your journey, no matter how painful and difficult it might be.

The Process and What to Expect

Starting a new journey can bring a whole array of emotions forward, especially one like therapy that takes vulnerability to begin. Please see the following order of things to help answer questions and clarify what one can expect.

Step One:

Fill out the contact form if you would like to receive more information. We will be in touch with you within 24 hours to answer questions.

If you are ready to speak with someone, proceed to booking an appointment. There are two choices, one is a 15 minute consultation to speak with a provider or two you can begin with an initial 55-minute session.

If you do not see an appointment option or the provider you would like to meet with, please use the cont form and we will get in touch with you within 24 hours.

With any of these options, we will reach out and have a discussion about insurance to see if the therapist is in-network if you plan to utilize insurance. We will answer questions about co-pays and deductibles to the best of our ability, but it is the client's ultimate responsibility to check with insurance.

Step Two for Consultation:

If you choose a consultation, the therapist will confirm the time or reach out with other available options. You will login to the client portal from this website. It will ask for your email and a link will be sent to you. Here you will have your 15 minute consultation where you can ask the therapist any questions and get a feeling to see if they are the right fit for you.

Afterwards, you can either let the therapist know how you would like to proceed or they can reach out in 24 hours to see the decision you made. If you choose to proceed follow the remaining steps for an initial session.

Step Two Preparing for Initial Session:

If you choose an initial session, the therapist will confirm the time or reach out with other available options. You will receive an email from Simple Practice with consent forms and some assessments that will need to be completed before your first appointment. Depending upon how much detail you give this process takes 5-20 minutes. If you are filling them out for a minor please fill them out based off of what you observe in them. We will also ask for an email address for the minor, so they can fill them out in their own confidential portal.

Once paperwork is complete you are ready for your first session.

Step Three Initial Session:

When setting up your portal you can choose to receive reminders via text or email. If you choose this option, you can connect from these. If not, you will log on to this website and click client portal on both pages then enter your email address. You will receive an email with a link from Simple Practice, click this and your session will begin. In this first session you can expect information to be given on confidentiality, discussion of the forms you filled out, gathering information on what brings you to therapy, and what you would like to achieve. During all of this we will organically gather more background information such as supports, family and friendships, and other information which will help with the pressing concerns.

You will also talk with your therapist to set-up an ongoing appointment time that works for both of you. This will be your time that is reserved for you weekly.

Step Four Moving Forward:

When you have a session you can log on from the reminders or from the website. The portal is also where you can cancel appointments, reschedule, and check billing. Simple Practice allows you to log on from your computer or you can download the mobile app.
